CHUF has become Wave Direct’s first ever chosen charity!

Newcastle-based leisure company Wave Direct sells inflatable hot tubs and sports equipment such as paddleboards and kayaks. When the pandemic hit in 2020, the business experienced a huge rise in people making both their homes and health a priority. With people focusing on their relaxation spaces and getting involved in outdoor sports pursuits, Wave saw rapid growth. What began as a side venture for two friends a few years ago, is now making it’s mark internationally and the company’s products are available from retailers such as The Range and even the prestigious Selfridges! Founders Tom Jeffery and Dan Luper decided they wanted to give something back by working with a local charity that shares their family values and makes a difference to children from all across the region and beyond. Because CHUF does just that and also offers great opportunities for staff wellbeing and engagement, Wave Direct has committed to supporting the charity in 2021-22.

They plan to boost staff wellbeing for their growing team, by undertaking challenge events and fundraising activity for CHUF over the next year. The company hopes that in supporting CHUF they can play a role in helping families when they feel far from home and need support the most. The company plans to brave the coals in a daring fire walk and get their teams involved in a Dragonboat race down the iconic River Tyne later in the year.
